GPS800 -
Full-Featured Data Logger
The GPS800 is a full-featured (passive) fleet management system for small and large fleets. Easy to use, powerful, and contains a wide assortment of features for tracking vehicles, improving efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and liability.
What is Passive GPS?
Passive GPS refers to a system that utilizes:
Intelligent mobile unit that collects and stores data.
Short-range radio or direct-cable for transferring data to a PC.
Software for analysis and reporting of GPS data.
Primary Advantages of a Passive GPS System:
No monthly fees for transferring data to software.
No restrictions to the amount of data collected and stored.
Extremely detailed reporting of vehicle activity.
What Can I Expect From a Passive GPS System?
No Monthly Fees (no contracts)
Increase Productivity
Decrease Fuel Consumption
Protect Against Time Sheet Fraud
Accurately Verify Time and Date of Deliveries
Identify Excessive Idling
Greatly Reduce Vehicle Maintenance
Reduce Insurance Premiums
Peace of Mind
Identify Excessive Overtime Wages
Increase Profitability
Optimize Use of Fleet Resources
Identify Excessive Speeding
Monitor Rear and Side Door Openings
Increase Driver Safely
Extensive Reporting of All Vehicle Activity
What Types of Businesses Prefer Passive GPS?
Any business that plans to act on information after activity occurs (i.e. end of day, weekly summary information).
Any business that does not desire or cannot justify monthly airtime expenses (municipalities, government, large fleets).
Passive GPS Systems are not Best for...
Businesses that need to know vehicle location at any given time.
Businesses that do not have a central place where all vehicles return to on a regular basis.
FREE Monthly Monitoring:
The GPS800 is the perfect, low-cost vehicle location solution. By storing all the data for future download, the recurring monthly costs associated with AVL and Real-Time GPS systems are eliminated.
Automatic Download:
The GPS800 uses a 900 MHz two-way radio that transmits the data from the vehicle to the base station. The base station is continually monitoring for mobile units within range (generally 1/2 mile), as soon as a mobile unit is located it begins to download it's data. Because of this automatic transmission, there is no driver intervention necessary, thus allowing for the unit to be concealed. Radio communications are extremely robust insuring effortless transmission with no data loss.
Features:
Power yet easy to use software
No Monthly Fees
Detailed data collection
35+ Report & Graphs
Includes maps from GDT® for complete and accurate coverage
Ideal for small and large fleets
Event Triggered:
Each vehicle GPS unit can be programmed to collect data through a variety of options/triggers that you choose, such as:
Distance |
In increments of meters between logs/hits |
Speeding |
When vehicle speed exceeds a certain speed |
Stops |
Vehicle is stationary for longer than given time interval in seconds |
Time |
In increments of seconds between logs/hits |
Acceleration |
settings that alert if a driver accelerates too quickly |
Deceleration |
settings that alert if a driver decelerates too quickly |
Engine Voltage |
Allows you to know when engine is idling |
Home Base |
pre defined base settings to know when vehicle is home |
Geo Fence |
pre defined location settings to alert when a unit is near a specific area |
Sensor Settings |
When a defined activity/trigger on the vehicle takes place. e.g., door opening, latch released, boom activated, fork activated, etc...anything that you can put a switch on. |
Each vehicle GPS unit can be programmed to collect data through a variety of options/triggers that you choose, such as:
Data |
Send data from an keypad and record the data along with when and where the data was collected. e.g. delivery quantity, count of passengers, weight of bin, etc. |
Data-Logging:
With 8 Mb of non-volatile flash memory, each vehicle unit can store over 10,000 records. This translates to 2,000 miles of travel between downloads, based on .25 mile interval. Each gps record consists of the following attributes: date, time, longitude/latitude position, speed, traveling direction, and triggered sensors. When the vehicle returns to home, the data is automatically downloaded into the fleet management computer.
Mapping/Software:
New! Now using map data from GDT, a leader in high quality, complete and detailed street maps.
Using our software, you can manage detailed information for each vehicle in your fleet. Not only can you view the data, you can visually recreate each vehicle's driving route on-screen. Maps are available for the USA, Canada, and for most of the civilized world. Zoom In" (.15 x .25 miles) or "Zoom Out" for displaying and replaying the details of the path traveled. There are several options provided in the "Playback History" feature, such as:|
Tracing - Leaves a trace of the path during "playback history"
Redefined Start and End - Select a subset of the data to replay
Attributes - Date, Time, and Speed are displayed for each "hit" as it is replayed
Playback Speed - User can increase the speed, decrease the speed, or manually control the speed
of the playback on the map
Reports:
The GPS800 contains over 30 reports and graphs that allow the user to know in many levels of detail exactly how the fleet operates. Custom reports are available as well.
