Vehicle, Non-powered Asset, and Trailer Tracking system
The GPS100 is an "All-in-One" battery operated GPS device. The system communicates via satellite, so it is able to keep tabs on anything that has a view of the sky. The battery life is up to 7 years and can be easily replaced in the field with hardly any down time.
Recommended Use:
Trailers
Generators
Heavy Equipment
Shipping containers
Conveniently, the reporting system will show battery life with every event, this way a user can monitor battery life and plan to replace when needed. Easy to install, and very reliable, the GPS100 is a 'low-usage" device, ideal for providing location updates 1-6 times per day. Recommended use is for tracking and monitoring location of assets and inventory.
The GPS100 provides fleet managers with a low cost, easy to install, reliable and power efficient means to keep tabs on anything that has a view of the sky. A variety of sensors are available to monitor alarms, exceptions, intrusion, temperature, G loads and many more.
Installation:
Installation is as easy as using the double sided tape (the unit's case will be damaged if pried from the tape) or fastening with screws through the units mounting holes. The only requirement is the unit must be able to see the sky during normal operations of the asset.
Reliability:
Reliability has been tested as the basic unit has been in use for several years in the oil and gas industry in the Colorado-Wyoming area. Cold testing and battery life have been proven in the field on these units.
The GPS100 vehicle tracking system is the ideal unit for use when two-way communication is not needed. Positive information on all assets equipped with the GPS100 ensures accurate information for use in modeling, planning, asset utilization, and possibly the most important area, customer service. Rather than only a very few individuals in an organization knowing where the assets are, GPS100 allows Sales, Marketing, Management, Customer Service, Maintenance, Shipping and Customers, to have all the appropriate information in a time-sensitive manner.
The GPS100 is one more tool that our customers have to fight against inefficiency, rising costs, security concerns, incomplete information flow and decision making without current information.
Customer Requirements:
Track a “non-powered” asset, such as a trailer, generator, container, etc.
Low usage: 1-6 locates per day or less (unit is pre-programmed to update at certain time(s) in 24 hr period.
Satellite coverage (opposed to cellular)
Note: Unit cannot be manually “pinged”
Applications:
Asset tracking-Trailer, rail, vessel, container…
Cargo security – Alarm notification, door open, engine on etc.
Cargo health monitoring – Smart sensor interface – open standard
Fleet management – Motion triggered reporting capable. Know when your assets move!
Geo-fencing – Are your assets where they're supposed to be?
Homeland Security – Has the container been opened?
Trailer Tracking Benefits:
Multi-year battery life
7 years at 2 reports per day
Reporting from every 30 minutes to once per day
Battery notification with message
No External power needed
Seamless Satellite Coverage in
North America, Europe, Middle East
Quick and simple installation
Scheduled or event driven reports
Multi sensor interfaces for trailer status: Door alarm, Temperature hi/low, Cargo Status Monitors
Reports:
There are several useful reports that help the user understand where their assets are, and where they have been, and when.
Activity Report – Time, date, location, address (when available, longitude/latitude when address not available).
Satellite Imaging & Mapping – See a "bread crumb" trail showing the movement of your asset, in 30 minute to 12 hour intervals.
Geofence Report – Print reports that show which geofences were crossed, and at what time/date. Or, automatically receive alerts via text/email at subsequent "track"/update.
Inputs Report – This will show all activity for inputs such as PTOs, pumps, generators, etc.
Settings:
There are numerous admin settings that let users organize and customize their vehicle tracking needs. Settings are an Admin privilege and can be disabled per user request.
Company Emails – This will let the user setup emails for alerts and schedulers.
Units – You can customize unit names.
Groups – Users have the ability to assign units to a group for organization.
Geofences – Provides the ability to create borders in area and be notified via email and/or cell phone once asset/vehicle enters or leaves a specified area.
Reports Scheduler – The user has the ability to receive reports via email on a scheduled basis. User defined schedule of daily, once a week or monthly is available.

Hardware:
The
GPS100 needs to have a clear view of the
sky and can be mounted internally (signal can pass through plastic, glass, or wood, but not metal) or externally -- requires minimum 10% GPS fix.
The GPS100 also comes equipped with telemetry
inputs (4 total). The input wires
can be used to monitor PTO's (power turn-ons).
The GPS100 is designed to withstand the harsh industrial environment of use on outdoor moving and stationary assets. As such, the T1000 will be subjected to environmental and regulatory requirements. The following documents and standards are relevant to the design and testing of the GPS100 product.
SAE J1455, REV JUN2006 SAE Recommended Environmental Practices for Electronic
